Monday was a strange day weather-wise. It was raining, then not, then pouring, then bright and sunny. So, as predictable, a rainbow was visible while we were eating dinner. As we stood outside, looking up, we realized how amazing the sky really is. How beautiful it looks, and how small it makes one feel.
Also, when writing the title to this blog post (and this is not just me trying to make this word-related. Well… not really), I noticed that a one-of-a-kind, magnificent, exquisite, delightful (I’m going to stop here… but I have many more adjectives 😅) word like “sky” really does accurately describe the vastness it represents.
At first, we could only see part of the rainbow but after a minute or so, more of it came into view. It was interesting and cool to watch because it was very slow, but fast enough that we could see it happening, a rainbow emerging from the clouds right before our eyes.
Spinning around and staring upward, we talked about what it would be like seeing the sky for the first time. The edges of the clouds glistened.
…a rainbow emerging from the clouds right before our eyes.
I turned my back for a moment. Then I looked back and the rainbow was gone. Tucked back away again and saved for another day. Someday, we will see this radiant grandeur again.
